Welcome to the CCSA – your gateway to connecting industry professionals with experts specialised in superconducting-based technologies for the Energy Transition. Our mission is to facilitate collaboration by guiding you to the right experts, ultimately fostering market entry or enhancing technological readiness.
Please note that Hi-SCALE does not provide consultancy services. Any such services should be arranged through direct discussions between the industrial stakeholder and the identified expert.
Remark: if you are a student or researcher engaged in academic or R&D pursuits, we recommend exploring alternative sources of information, such as the HTS Modelling Workgroup. For specific inquiries or collaborations, feel free to reach out to the Hi-SCALE Working Group leaders.

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding agency for research and innovation networks. Our Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation.
This COST Action tackles the challenges that prevent the HTS mass penetration in the electrical system, as concerns related to costs and uncertainty about cryogenics’ reliability, and the idea that only highly skilled professionals will be able to operate the latter. Other causes relate to a lack of systematic knowledge about the design of HTS systems for the grid, and on how to simulate their performance using standard software packages. There is also a general unawareness about these materials, particularly regarding the reliability of the associated technologies.
